Makell ate a chocolate treat in the car on the way from church one Sunday and when I went to get her, this is what I found. She was covered in it. Note to self, supervise chocolate eating!

I've been busy
SEWING!!
I love to sew and had a few projects in mind. My mom came to visit so naturally I asked for her help and here's what we made:
2 super cute pillow case dresses
These are a little long but will last for a while and can be worn as more of a long shirt when Makell is bigger.
1 tshirt dress
Please excuse my bad picture and lack of a full body shot. My model is slightly spastic and has a tough time standing still for a good picture. You can still get the basic idea though.
My inspiration for these can all be found on my sewing board on Pintrest. I think my versions turned out pretty cute! Thanks Mom!!
Potty Training...
...is done!! Woo-hoo!!
Necessary potty training attire:
Makell was an awesome child to potty train. Like most things, she pretty much did it all on her own and we have learned that when she is ready to do something, she will just do it. It basically happened in one weekend at the beginning of February and she has only had two or three accidents since. Our next step, making it through naps and the night dry. I'm sure she'll be there before long!
Necessary potty training attire:
a warm shirt + underwear in a cute, girly print +
Baby Legs + knee high socks =
Happy Valentines Day!
I was super excited for Valentines Day this year because Makell got to take Valentines for all the kids at her daycare. I really wanted to make something fun for her so I went to the internet for ideas. I found these on one of my favorite blogs and decided to make them for Makell. I was told they were a big hit!
Bye, Bye Binky!
Toward the end of January Makell decided she was ready to give up her beloved binky. This is big step for her because she LOVED that binky. We pretty much only let her have it in the car and in her bed and she stuck to that rule pretty well. She would get so excited when she would get to have it, I was actually kind of sad to see it go. When we would tell her we were leaving to go somewhere, she would get a huge smile on her face and practically yell, "Yay! I get to have my binky in my mouth!" She said that to me a few days after she gave it up and it almost broke my heart to remind her that she didn't have her binky anymore.

So here's how it went down...
For several months before she gave it up, I would tell her that binkies were for babies and ask her if she was ready to give hers to the babies. She would tell me no and I would drop it. Well one Saturday night, I asked her if she was ready to give up her binkies and thrown them away and she looked at me and said yes. I told her okay, go throw it in the trash. She walked right to the garbage can and threw it away. She cried for it for about 10 minutes that night, asked for it just a few other times and all I had to do was remind her that binkies were for babies and she threw hers away because she was a big girl. She would say, okay and be fine. We did struggle for about two weeks while she learned to put herself to sleep without it but we are over that now and she is back to being a superstar bedtime goer. We're so proud of our big girl!
