Potty Training...

...is done!! Woo-hoo!!

Makell was an awesome child to potty train. Like most things, she pretty much did it all on her own and we have learned that when she is ready to do something, she will just do it. It basically happened in one weekend at the beginning of February and she has only had two or three accidents since. Our next step, making it through naps and the night dry. I'm sure she'll be there before long!

Necessary potty training attire:
a warm shirt + underwear in a cute, girly print +
Baby Legs + knee high socks =
A super cute 2 year old ready to go peeps on the potty!

Happy Valentines Day!

I was super excited for Valentines Day this year because Makell got to take Valentines for all the kids at her daycare. I really wanted to make something fun for her so I went to the internet for ideas. I found these on one of my favorite blogs and decided to make them for Makell. I was told they were a big hit!
I made these for our Primary kids to wish them a happy Valentines day. I loved the pink Rice Krispies!
Hope your V-Day was filled with fun treats and lots of love!

Bye, Bye Binky!

Toward the end of January Makell decided she was ready to give up her beloved binky. This is big step for her because she LOVED that binky. We pretty much only let her have it in the car and in her bed and she stuck to that rule pretty well. She would get so excited when she would get to have it, I was actually kind of sad to see it go. When we would tell her we were leaving to go somewhere, she would get a huge smile on her face and practically yell, "Yay! I get to have my binky in my mouth!" She said that to me a few days after she gave it up and it almost broke my heart to remind her that she didn't have her binky anymore.

So here's how it went down...

For several months before she gave it up, I would tell her that binkies were for babies and ask her if she was ready to give hers to the babies. She would tell me no and I would drop it. Well one Saturday night, I asked her if she was ready to give up her binkies and thrown them away and she looked at me and said yes. I told her okay, go throw it in the trash. She walked right to the garbage can and threw it away. She cried for it for about 10 minutes that night, asked for it just a few other times and all I had to do was remind her that binkies were for babies and she threw hers away because she was a big girl. She would say, okay and be fine. We did struggle for about two weeks while she learned to put herself to sleep without it but we are over that now and she is back to being a superstar bedtime goer. We're so proud of our big girl!

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas and hope all of you had excellent ones as well. Here are a few pics of our fun day.

Makell got an apron from Grammy and helped me decorate sugar cookies tonight while wearing it. She loves to help me cook and always has to have an apron on. Now she has her very own! Thanks Grammy!
Just being cute...
Nick and his dad got helicopters and here they are flying them outside. It was a beautiful day here in Michigan with blue skies and sun! Nick flew his across the street and it landed on the roof of a neighbors house. The wind caught it and it fell to the ground and was pretty much dead after that. Here he is with his dad examining the damage.

Our pretty princess
Nick got a new camera and I was playing with it, taking shots of Makell. She loves to say "Cheese".

Feeding her new baby! She is in heaven!

Makell's Tricks

The other night Makell was jumping on the bed and being super cute so I decided to get it on video and she did all her tricks for us. She counts, does the ABC's and sings several songs. It's a little long but oh so cute; check it out!

Aw, Snap!

Makell broke her collar bone last night! It is such a bummer to see our little princess hurt so bad. She was playing with Nick and she ran herself into the couch and somehow broke her collar bone. It will be 4 weeks of a sling and pain meds. Hopefully she feels better soon!

Saying cheese for the camera. She is in her make shift sling because the Urgent Care didn't have one small enough for her.

Super Cute Gift

I have worked with the Young Women at church for the past 5 years and this is what we gave the girls for their birthdays this year. They were TONS of work but I think they turned out so cute and each one was personalized the girls' favorite color, cake and icing flavor.

Here is the link to the original idea.
